Amélie Housing will offer assistance to applicants looking to register including help to complete or amend their rental application. Amélie Housing will support applicants in person or by phone, if required.

Be Sure Before You Sign Up

The Housing Affordability crisis impacts vulnerable people in many ways. Amélie Housing has become aware of schemes such as Rent-to-Buy (RTB) scams being offered to people in housing stress in the communities where we work. Indicators of fraud can include

  • Higher than expected weekly rent
  • A large deposit or a ‘commitment’ deposit
  • Finance arrangements

If you are unsure – seek independent legal advice before signing anything. Search community legal support in your state or check tenant support links in your state.

If you suspect foul play, do not hesitate to call our team on 1800 950 575 and ask for a second opinion on rental recommendations. Alternatively, call your local police to report your concerns officially.
